Special needs adults in The Villages demonstrate value of teamwork and giving back through baking

Aktion Club of Lady Lake Kiwanis recently came together as one to bake muffins to share with others in need in the community in and around The Villages, FL. Not only did they embrace another opportunity to create memories with their friends, but this structured baking activity helped demonstrate the value of teamwork, sharing and caring while giving to others in need.

Recently, we introduced Ann Hensley and her daughter Laura in a podcast you can find here. What makes Aktion Club unique is the fact their mission is based on serving others within their community. This local Aktion Club near The Villages has been active for nearly 10 years.

It was an honor and joy for me to follow Aktion in ‘action’, as they worked together to bake banana and blueberry muffins, some which were enjoyed afterwards, and others that were beautifully packaged for donation.

While this video is 49 minutes long, if you only have a few minutes to spend watching, I encourage you to catch the first 5 minutes as they kick things off, and fast forward to the last couple minutes to catch the closing comments. I guarantee you that witnessing their pure joy for togetherness and pride in making a contribution will put a smile on your face.

And if you watch the video in its entirety, I hope it gives you a warm sense of being knowing that no matter our challenges in life, we all need a purpose and can be a contributing member of society.

We hope you enjoy all the baking action in the video below!
